THE SAFEST PLACE TO BE DURING A TORNADO IS IN A BASEMENT. GET UNDER A WORKBENCH OR OTHER PIECE OF STURDY FURNITURE. IF NO BASEMENT IS AVAILABLE...SEEK SHELTER ON THE LOWEST FLOOR OF THE BUILDING IN AN INTERIOR HALLWAY OR ROOM SUCH AS A CLOSET. USE BLANKETS OR PILLOWS TO COVER YOUR BODY AND ALWAYS STAY AWAY FROM WINDOWS.

We have been ordered to take cover immediatley. Were in basement under layout LOL.Nick

When a tornado clobbered a nearby town in 1974, in which a former supervisor lived, his wife rode it out in the bathtub, with the rest of the house collapsing around the bathroom, which I am guessing the plumbing helps to anchor.  That house was on a

slab, with no basement.  Either the news is better, or we are getting a heck of a lot

more of them....I only remember one when I was a kid.

It's calming down in my neck of ohio...but if perchance it kicks up, surround yourself with CABEESES! Lots & Lots of Cabeeses!
Sorry- couldn't resist........

The Same Storm that sent the Rockstars to the Basement to Duck and Cover Just Blew Through my little Town!!    What a Light. Show .
If you should need to seek shelter the bathroom is recommended.
I’m a firm believer.. if it’s your time to go- it’s your time to go.
I guess that helps me to stay CALM...

Hope All Is Well.

Nice to know you took care of your pets as well. They are part of the family.

When sheltering under your layout, you may find it best to avoid sheltering under any tornado magnets trailer parks that you have modeled.

ya, we got roughed up a little bit here in western medina county too. we  have a train table with 2x6s, 3/4" plywood[ made on purpose] under the stairs in the basement.i always told the family to take cover under that table if it got nasty.its about the most secure spot in the house.

nick where in the area are you at?-jim

Having just done some work on both a washer and dryer (new hoses and vent), I think

you might get a cat under the washer, but this slob will not fit.  Dunno if zoning would let me build a shelter in the back yard.  With tornados the last several years in Colorado Springs, Salt Lake City, and somewhere in northern California, I don't know who is exempt anymore.
