Excellent!!!!!!!
Outstanding!!! Keep up the good work.
"Is that a mirror you used for the lake?"
Sure is. Elizabeth designed a template for the lake and we took it to a glass glazier. They cut the lake from stock that was 70" by 42".
Brian,
That really looks great, very nicely done

I really love the use of the mirror for the ice lake effect. Do you plan on putting a very light coat clear matte or glaze finish to simulate the a light dusting of snow? This is going to be great. By the way on the news they were talking about a massive pile up on one of the highways in your area. I hope things are well with all the snow you have been getting..
Doug
Nice work. Really inspires me.
Re: the book you referenced, is the "The Art of the Polar Express"?
Brian, your layout is looking super! What a fun project for you both!
outstanding work!
Darn, I cut all the skates off my elves last year. I guess they won't be coming over to play. You and Elisabeth are doing a great job Brian. Thanks for the updates.
ALL points of the compass in the movie are labeled South.
Thanks for the heads up. I never considered this, but you are all correct that pointed this out. Fortunately this is an easy fix as the compass headings are all at the tip of the stars. I will be picking up three S for South tomorrow.
And yes, this is the time to get it right before all of the elves arrive.
The Art of the Polar Express"?
Yes, it has been an excellent resource to us. I have had the book for many years, but we are now wearing the pages out.
Doug, I think we are going to leave the mirror as is because of the excellent reflective qualities.
Over the past five days where we live we have finally got a break in the snow fall. We are south of where the big pile up was yesterday.

Wow, I totally missed the all points South thing as well
Also take note of the way each S is turned. Keep up the great work.
Who do you think you are, Lee Willis, working at such a fast pace?? Anyway, I am in awe of what you have accomplished.
Awesome Brian, very professional. Super scene for your theme North Pole layout.

Brian, all the guys in my camp smell a road trip.
We would love to see all of you, and lobster is still on the menu, Marty.
The compass star is fixed and I will post a photo tonight.
Some of you were kind enough to point out that the Compass Star in the PE Movie has all points going to the SOUTH. With all of the pictures I looked at, I never noticed this and installed the basic Compass Star with conventional points. So we based on your keen observations, we made immediate corrective actions. Here are the before and after photos.
Thanks to all of you who pointed this out.

PTC, you guys ("guys" includes the gracious Elizabeth) are amazing!
Issue resolved instantly, and looks great.
This is really spectacular. Can't wait to see the elves.
Thanks for keeping us updated.

The compass points look great. All the little things are going to make this layout special.
I hope u have more photos of your train layout
Looks goods.
This weekend I worked on lighting the arched causeway that goes around the entire layout (except through the mountain at one end). I used about 160 feet of lighting for both sides of the causeway. The photo below accentuates the actual lighting effect that is actually very subdued, but with low lights, this is what you get as an image. A very special thank you goes to Marty Fitzhenry who turned me on to this lighting system, who did the research for what I needed, and was instrumental in making this happen. If you don't already know it, Marty is the BEST.
While I was working away on this project, Elizabeth was constructing the road system for Elfland.

Love the lights Brian, great job. I guess I am a sucker for lights, must be that moth effect.
Brian, thank you for providing us with updates. Your progress looks great. Did you use LED rope light or electroluminescent wire/tape for the archway lighting?
BRILLIANT!!!
Cool looking lights.
Thanks for the update Brian.
Brian,
i just saw this - very, very nice! Really looking forward to more photos of the mountain area you said you just finished and everything else.
