My thoughts are the MTH Coors set .. great animation and sounds and for the street price of around $400.00 I don't thing it can be beat. Any thoughts or disagreements?

The new PS3 4-6-0 starter sets are going for $300 or less. IMO they would be a better bet.

Very subjective question. If you like Coors, you are probably correct. Otherwise, one could care less about this whimsical set.
I'd have to agree with Brian on this one also. For me, you spent about 400 plus your time too much for that set.
However...if you like it than it was worth it for you.
Terms like "best bang for the buck" or "hands down" really give me a chuckle.
I like passenger cars/sets, so when I find a single car for 200 or less, for me that becomes a "best bang for my buck". To each his own.

What i'm trying to say / ask , is there any set out there for that money or less that gives you all the animation or features of this set ...
MTH Imperial Products are up there. Top notch. Want an even better bang for your buck, get a specialty set. My MTH Imperial Y6B came in the specialty set. The engine lists for $699, the set, which includes the engine, 4 hoppers, and caboose, lists for $799. Can't go wrong for an extra $100. Imperial engines are top notch. The Y6B has to be the, if not one of the, nicest made.
No other set will give you the animation, I assume your talking about the doors opening, backlighting, frost (smoke) pouring out etc...
As far as sounds, speed control, remote wireless control, any of the new MTH PS3 starter sets fill the requirement.
