I have a post-war 312 AF engine, and need to know what brand of smoke imitates best the original AF smoke. I see RFG, Megasteam, etc. on Ebay. Any experience and input is appreciated.
There are several smoke fluids available, including the ones you mentioned. I like one called A normal, strange name but claims it is the original A F deal. Proto smoke is also good. Most can be bought on eBay, or at your local hobby shop if you still have one anywhere near you.
I find A-Normal is good with a smoke unit that has not been used for years or a long time. It is a thinner fluid and seems to dissolve the sticky fluid in the smoke unit.
Buy JT Mega Steam directly from them or a authorized Dealer. They have the dealer listed on their site. The one club I belong to that has an American flyer track runs JT Mega Steam, it works fine no problems.
