Bobby,
Almost any switch track whose motor can be made to operate using a power source that isn't track power.
This and a whole lot more about DCS is all in MTH’s “The DCS Companion 3rd Edition!" This book is available from many fine OGR advertisers and forum sponsors, or as an eBook or a printed book at MTH's web store! |

Will need some on/off "toggle" switches as well for the track power
Do you need to switch both the hot and the outside rail at the same time for a DCS block to work?
Believe only the center rail (though that will mess up the equal lengths)
Bobby D,
IMO the FasTrack Command Control Switches are seriously Great Engineering. Low Voltage Switches that can run off Track power or Aux power, 99 of them if needed, controlled from either the Legacy HHRC or the older TMCC HHRC.

Only the center rail needs to be switched for power. The thing about both wires needing to be the same length is an old, untrue, myth.

That is great to hear. Have given Thomas sets to families with newborns the past few years and looking to expand them for next year, etc as the kids get older. (Note that this step REQUIRES their Mom's Pre-approval!!:-) Thinking the add on loop with a straight in the center or a siding seems the smallest footprint increase.
