I have been on the fence about purchasing one for many years now. I keep going back and forth between yes, due to the tunnel taking up half of my layout, and no seeing that I can do my small layout by hand and do what I can do in regards to the tunnel.
I've been very impressed by the Centerline car. If I do purchase a car, this is likely the one I'll get. I've seen them on club layouts, private layouts, and at York on display and have been very impressed by their operation. Appears to be a nice product.
For me I have gone through 2 different brands and now have the r&l and love it. Really does a good job. I find it works best if pushed ahead of an engine. I use a diesel as I do not have any non scale couplers on my steamers> It does take some power to push so a tiny diesel will not work,
