If you recall, this topic I started back in July and I posted it to mention about the hobby shops are selling this fast. Luckily I ordered mine before they sold out. Anyway, I did get it and I attached the photos of the MTH 20-20738-1 of what it looks like. It is a very beautiful looking unit. Seems though the purple color on the real Citirail is a dark purple bluish color on the MTH version. But still, this engine is very very nice. I love the silver paint. Anyway, I wanted to post the photos of what the engine looks like as I have not seen any photos yet here on OGR. The photos of the MTH version is on the reply below the real photos.

Yes I am getting one of the new MTH CREX Citirail ES44AC's. I just love the paint scheme and I have seen quite a few over the years in real life. Plus the front reminds me of the NS NKP Heritage Unit ES44AC #8100. But tell you, I just found out recently that the 20-20739-1 - http://mthtrains.com/20-20739-1  which is #1322 is already SOLD OUT at MTH. As for 20-20738-1 - http://mthtrains.com/20-20738-1  which is #1328, they are selling fast as well. But try to get them on order as quick as possible. Anyway, this unit is one of the first since NS 4000 that I'm excited about getting. Anyway, here is two photos of a pair of Citirails I caught in Mentor Ohio back on Friday April 21st, 2017 leading CSX westbound intermodal Q127. Reason I put this under the 3-Rail Hi-Rail forum is to see how many other people are going to be getting this unit by MTH. I believe Mike Caruso was in line. Also to help some, the 1200 to 1400 number series on these Citirails are leased to BNSF and only the 1500 number series are leased to CSX.

It is a sharp looking engine. Not to take anything away from it or be negative but, MTH needs to update the ES44 body shells for the newer ES44 models. The nose door is on the wrong side and should have a window. The handrails are incorrect for Citi Rail, NS, CSX and some CN engines. I'm not buying anymore MTH ES44s until they get it right. The MTH NS AC446CM units have the correct new cab but they put the wrong handrails on it............. Go figure.

Chris, thank you. Yes it's a sharp looking unit.

Paul, yes it's a great looking unit. As to what you mention about the issues, to tell you the truth, I never paid a attention. I just like the look of this GEVO with the pain scheme. It may not be totally correct, but for me, the color and name is why I bought it. It's very sharp looking in person.

I have noticed that many MTH releases have been updated and changed to near road specific details. I'm not sure why they didn't make a different cab for this,  but it is what it is. They do make changes during runs like details on GE's and the SD70ACe that I have noticed.

In HO, there would always be an aftermarket upgrade to releases like cab shells and detailing changes. I still hope that aftermarket details will grow in O scale too. I bet there just isn't enough market interest or sales. It seems that the majority quits after the first gen diesel era.

I also hope that someday O scale will become recognized for better detailing.

BTW, it does look like some models have the door on that side.
