I recently just sold my imperial big boy and the person who bought it said they put it on the track and it started up fine went through the startup sequence etc and then it just turned off and nothing happens now. Has PS3. Any ideas?

Have him send it back to you. You check it and video it. Ask him what his operating system is. I ask everyone I sell to. Many people are still running old Lionel transformers without protection. Cover yourself as a great number of these operators do still exist.
Deal with him direct and not through the Forum.

Mark, you are most likely correct. Can be other issues or operator/layout issue. Accurate troubleshooting can only be done by the man who has it on his bench. If it was me, I would get it back and confirm operation.
I always tell people who are selling to put in a NEW (not a charged one) battery and test it before it goes in the box. Many a seller has had to eat a sale because he stated the battery looked good. In this case, the locomotive is PS3 and a battery is not involved.

Some guys still think it is 1953. Put it on ther track and it will run. As long as you are clear of any nightmare.
