What are the +/- BLND buttons? I can’t find any documentation on this. It’s also not a part of the Cab2 controls.
GLOBAL VOLUME is the left column volume. This is for all sound types and is just master volume.
BLEND Volume is the middle column. This is the equivalent of hitting AUX1 before adjusting volume CAB1 style. Blend is the background sounds but also includes prime mover volume.
EFX Volume is the right most column. This is a Legacy specific value- and is more about intensity of the prime mover- example on Steam, this gives a deeper and louder bass in the chuff.
From a typical Legacy engine manual- again, explaining how the GLOBAL and BLEND volumes are controlled- by hitting AUX1 first before adjusting "Blend".

Again the first 2 controls are Legacy engine features- where from all 3 types of previous remotes, you could control both Master or Global overall volume, and then background sounds as well as prime mover called "Blend" sounds by hitting AUX1 first bere adjusting the volume buttons. This is how you can have Bell and Whistle or Horn at a loud volume, and turn down prime mover engine and background sounds. Global volume affects all sounds. Blend affects a subset of sounds- specific to each engine- but generally background and prime mover sounds, meanwhile Signal sounds- Bell and Whistle/Horn are left at Global volume level.
EFX is a separate setting in the CAB2 and not accessible in CAB1 and CAB1L remotes. Either the brake slider on CAB2 and CAB3 or the EFX menu can further adjust and enhance the intensity of the prime mover sounds.
