Central Railroad of New Jersey boxcars #22485 and #25624 ran in my “New Jersey Train” with CNJ caboose #91530 behind Raritan River Rail Road #20, a USRA 0-6-0 steam switcher, on the O-36 inner loop of my 12’-by-8’ layout. The cars are identical except for the doors but neither has any identification of its manufacturer - which I believe is Crown Model Products.

Well today I am posting a "new (at least to me)" NYC boxcar from Kline.  It was a new product in 1996 so it is some 29 years old.  The key to this one which makes it somewhat unique is the display of the NYC "Early Bird" logo, advertising speedy freight service.  I have included a close up of that logo for your interest as in my view its what makes this boxcar interesting.

One other thing which I am sure some of you may notice, when I purchased this boxcar it had been refitted with American Flyer S gauge trucks and link couplers...OH NO!  However,  I have the proper trucks and couplers on the way so there will soon be a refit.  In the meantime I can just enjoy the livery and the "Early Bird" on the side .

Happy Boxcar Sunday everyone, Hope your upcoming week goes well.

Best Regards
