Just brought home a brand new MTH railking sd45 proto 3.0. Start up is fine, smoke works great, but when I run it a couple of feet, I hear an arcing and it’s noticeable from the rear truck, it immediately trips my explorer, thank goodness. I lubricated each axle and gears before first operation, and tracks were cleaned before it was brought home. The arcing appears to be coming from the trucks and frame and not the tracks. Any thoughts before giving it over to warranty?

Any MTH number ( 30-______) and a video might be helpful to get some support.
Hi, I would ask you to post a picture of the engine laying on its side and post it here so we can look at it and maybe give you some ideas! also, you could leave it laying on its side if nothing is noticed when you posted a picture and power up with allegator clips and just shoot video and post it here running while laying on its side! are you sure you're not missing a traction tire which could cause shorts

Wheel flanges can cut into the truck power wire. Common issue. Move and tape wire.
