Where have all the bubbling water towers gone and why are they all so hard to find ?

The bubbling accessories never seemed to work reliably. You also had to work about tubes breaking.
My original American Flyer (# 772) works very well once it starts up. It takes about 15 minutes to do so though because the transformer I am using isn't putting out enough voltage. I'll use a different bulb when this one burns out..
Didn't RMT take over the K-Line (Marx) tooling for their bubbling water tower? Maybe they will do a new run of them soon.

I have a bunch of Colber Water Towers and Oil Wells from the 1950's and they all work great.
I am always looking for a few more if anyone has one for sale. Let me know - email in profile.
Thanks

My Marx bubbling water tower has always worked just fine. I have it on a separate 25-watt transformer, so I can adjust the voltage to get bubbles with the least amount of power. I also added a flashing red light on top, with an Evans flashing LED.
You'd have to work pretty hard to break the tube, protected as it is by the surrounding plastic "girders."
I also run the old Marx and it operates fine. Being a toy train guy, I am happy to have a few of these on the layout.
