I picked this up a while back just because I like the paint job. Kinda funny its painted on a ex Lionel Santa Fe 2343. A better BNSF paint scheme to me.

How about a BN work train?!!
"Where did you find that one? I've been waiting decades for Lionel or MTH to make one in scale proportions."
I bought it at the Dupage show a number of years ago.I don't know who painted it. They did a great job. The numbers and printing are decals and the rest painted, its also a non-powered unit.

Big Truck Pete,
MTH made some Burlington Northern E-8's a while back. I have never seen them though.

Thanks. I remember seeing those at Berwyn's Trains when they came out, but I took a pass hoping a premier version would come. I haven't seen any of those on the secondary market anywhere!!!
The one you found at DuPage looks amazing!!!
Atlas O might have the BN PS-2-CD 4750 covered hoppers out by December or January.
Andrew
Atlas made the BN City Trailers, but they did not make the BN City 48' Containers.
Atlas does not have a 48' container.
This is one of the three BNAU Atlanta 48' containers on a BNPZ chassis.
There was only one BNAU Omaha 48' container.
Streamlined Steamroller posted:I am a massive BN foamer! Everyone I see green and white, it triggers my memory and I get excited!
I really want to see some of the BN E8s and F7s with matching passenger cars made someday. Not just in the exacutive scheme, but also in the 1970 to 1971 hockey stick scheme.
I know it isn't BN but has any manufacturer made the BNSF vomit bonnet SD70MAC? Speaking of vomit bonnet, imagine an F7 or E8 vomit bonnet. That would be cool!
I also wish Marx would have stayed around long enough to make BN items. By 1970, Marx was dying out. They didn't make new dies or castings for BN stuff. Someone made a custom BN 6" litho boxcar, if only New Marx or Faux would have made a production run of them.
Lionel must have been listening to you.
I'm just getting started but already have both of the new BN SD40's and planning on getting the new SD60M's.

It's a nice set I bought them with 2 B units and all the passenger cars.
So who is with me in writing to Lionel to issue the EMD/BN/Siemens SD 60MAC.... After all, this catalog Lionel announced the tri-clops SD60m's! It would've a shame if Lionel didn't offer that paint scheme before they activate their"hit and run "marketing tactics
I'd love to see an MTH or Lionel scale F unit in BN green!

I had to order a tri-clops myself #9200. The first road number.

I agree. I also would like to see a U Boat, maybe a U36B.
Matt, Very nice engine!
I like how you worked the old 8586 into the photos!! That was the best thing going in the '80's for anyone who wanted something modern. I still have that set and the extras even though I've gone all scale.
Here is a BN modern 50' boxcar that can be made by repainting a Lionel Modern 50' Boxcar that used to be made in the USA in the 1990's, but is now made in China. The trucks would have to be changed to roller bearing also.
The people at Lionel could have the people in China produce this BN modern 50' boxcar with roller bearing trucks.

I have the set with the 8585 and 8586, and its still one of my favorites.

Absolutely! Still a favorite here as well.
A common Burlington Northern freight car that has not been mass produced are the Atlas O PS-4750 3-bay covered hoppers with the BN's 1970's era scheme.
You need several of these behind your BN diesel locos.
Andrew
Atlas O announced the BN ACF cylindrical 6-bay covered hoppers a few months ago.
Did you order one or two of the road numbers?
I ordered both numbers.
