Hi guys , I don’t know if it’s just me or what… no matter what I do I always get a burning smell when using any smoke product. It’s always nasty smelling. I use the method of shredding up the wadding ( MTH Lionel genuine or tiki wick) then balling it up into the unit making sure it’s not to close to the elements and making sure there is properly ported for ventilation. I then prime the unit 10-15 drops and let it sit 5 to 10 min and fire it up. And add now and again but it Doesn’t even smell close to the sent that I am using .. and I rarely change it so it’s not because I am switching up the scents. Even on new engine my procedure is the same with always the same results. I’ve used MTH proto smoke ,Lionel premium smoke ,JT mega steam just can’t figure it out unless I just have high expectations on what it should smell like but it always smells like somethings on fire. Could I have just gotten a couple bad batches of fluid? Does it have a shelf life?
