First of all I'm new to the forum so I want to say hello and thanks for letting me join. I'm a long time model railroader, dating back to my childhood when I'd play with both the old Tyco HO trains we had for running around the Christmas Tree (but which never worked), and my dad's PW Lionel Burlington GP7 freight set. I tried to fully switch over to HO many times, but I've finally given in and freely collect both 3-Rail for the "fun" factor as well as HO for the realism and operations.
A few years ago I purchased an MTH PRR K4 from a family friend that owns a train store in Carlisle, PA called Wagner and Sons Toy Trains. As an aside, if any of you live or visit in the area, I highly recommend the owner Tyke and his brother George for their knowledge, personability, and extremely good deals.
At any rate, I purchased this engine knowing that it had a bad sound board. Nevertheless, the $75 price tag made it irresisitible to purchase and I'm glad I did. It's easily our best runner and the details and smoke effects are incredible. However, I wanted to see if anyone knew of a source for buying a replacement sound board. I have some basic electrical experience and should be able to replace the board, but I have looked high and low and cannot find a place to buy said replacement.
Thanks for reading, and sorry for the long post! Again, glad to be here.
