Cab 2 Legacy question

Did you get a 990 Legacy manual?  If not, here is the latest one v1.6. This document should tell you what you want to know. Legacy 990 v1.6 document

yes, I use all the options available for the engines and cars I own. It's a great system IMO.  The more you use it the better you'll like it I think. 

My decision is to buy Legacy models, but yours may be different. I do not own MTH models as I don't have a DCS system. Not sure I will purchase one at this time.  Hope this helps.

I am not sure how you operate your MTH, possibly conventional...The Cab 1 is the early TMCC version of command control. It can be set up to operate conventional engines via a walk around controller. The cab 1L is actually a cab 1 with no antenna and more functions that open up the World of Legacy to you and your friends and layout. The cab 2 is virtually a better system controller with more buttons than the others for more operating functions. I suggest you read the manuals and or give me a call. I would feel sure MTH would be nice if you have their DCS system, which I am not versed on. I am all Legacy command.

I agree with Superwarp1 above, buy what you like and run it with which ever control system it requires. I happen to like both MTH and Lionel so I have both Legacy and DCS. I like both control systems as well, not sure I could pick just one. I don't have a Cab1L, but it will do some Legacy commands and operates at the Legacy frequency, the Cab1 does neither of those things. Others more knowledgeable can provide other differences as I am not that familiar with these devices. MTH only has DCS and their new deluxe wifi app will also now do Legacy commands, but I don't think it does them all as a Cab2 would do.

I really don't buy things for specific features, I get the engines I like. So far MTH is leading the way for me, they seem to have much more in my chosen road name, but I still have some Lionel as well. I also have some Lionel Legacy accessories and plan to add more.

cab1 is the first tmcc system lionel built

cab1L is the same handheld (different color) but runs through the legacy system
