My 990 V2, is about 6 months old.  When accelerating from a complete stop, the remote will reduce the speed on its own even while I am steadily increasing the speed.  The train slows down (sometimes to a complete stop) and the remote's speed graph displays the slow down is happening.  At a point, the train will resume to accelerate only to slow down again.  This might happen 3 times at various intervals until I can get the train to speed.  At first I was hoping this would remedy or work its way out, but no luck.  Anyone have this happen?

Thanks,

Rich

The boost / brake switch sounds like it is sticking.  Some folks have had success spraying some canned air or contact cleaner in the switch. Be careful which cleaner you use and use it sparingly.

Also make sure when you turn on the remote, that you are not accidentally pulling back on the rocker.  I'm not 100% but if the remote powers on without the brake boost in detente position, it will zero where it is.

Rich,

Marty is giving you sound advise, let me also add this, try resetting your mid control button at the bottom of your Cab2, I accidently had mine in the wrong mode and my Legacy Shay was acting similar to your engine, when I started it up.  Marty & Guns wised me up to what I was doing wrong.  You can bump one of the other buttons as you put the Cab2 back in the Legacy Base, and not even know you did it.
