I have installed the Cruise commander M board in my Lionel SD60 and am currently installing a CC M board in my Lionel SD70MAC. Is there a way to attach the cab light wires so they will work as they did with the Lionel DCDR? Both loco's had the cab lights soldered to the DCDR board and ERR's CC M board instructions does not note a place to attach these light connection's only where to remove from the Lionel DCDR. I would like them to operate like they did previously, Cab lights on in reverse off in forward. I was thinking of splicing into the rear light wires and operating off that circuit but if there is a way to connect to the CC M board I would prefer to go that route. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Thanks for the reply John, I would love to have the cab lights off when moving and on when stopped, is that possible? I suppose anything is possible with if you have a degree in electrical engineering, which I defiantly don’t have. Since I now have all my Lionel loco’s running on the ERR CCM boards, I am doubting my memory, I was pretty sure the cab lights turned off in forward and on in reverse, am I correct in that memory? Anyway, is there a way to have the lights off in motion and on when stopped?

If you program the R4LC for a cab light from the Feature (smoke) output, the polarity reverses with direction.  That allows you to have lights that operate directionally, for incandescent, just add a diode.  Obviously, LED's will only work with one polarity, so no diode needed.

This is the board that I do directional lights with, as well as adding Rule-17 lighting.
