Noticed something peculiar about my 990 Legacy remote with 1.52 on it this weekend.

At the end of running an engine (my legacy FEF 3), you can put it through its shut down sequence by pressing the engine off button on the remote (bottom row, middle) and the engine goes thru its normal shutdown - steam release sound, headlight off, cab light off, smoke off; then, no response to other buttons.

However, if you rotate the throttle knob from 0 on up, the engine begins moving forward as though it is in conventional mode but no lights, no sound, no smoke.

Is this normal for the remote?

Thanks,

Yes this is normal.  Sometimes if I am not careful while putting the remote down I will bump the wheel and the engine will start moving.  The shutdown sequence does not really shut down the engine control, just sounds, lights, etc.  What I do after shutdown sometimes is just enter another unused engine ID.  Now if I bump the wheel the engine won't move because that's not the engine currently addressed in the remote.  I bumped the wheel one time and an engine was creeping along the layout and I did not even know it.  I caught it before it banged into another engine.

Thanks Sean,

Yep, your experience is exactly what I have seen; I guess this is just something that one has to keep in mind; I think the safest thing to do is address an engine that is not on the tracks.

I am running 1.52 on my remote; maybe, some future release will include a software change to disable the throttle as the software already does for the rest of the keys.  However, running the engine in complete silence is novel.
