The SW contract with the Ontario Convention Center expired and they were unable to come to a new agreement. Fairplex is not my favorite facility as far as unloading and setting up, but it's doable. Not sure if Fairplex is a one year deal while they look around or if they signed a multi-year deal.

don't let others tell you if there was or wasn't anything there. Granted, they may not have found much in their particular genre, but that doesn't mean you won't find anything. I have found some of my best finds at Cal-Stewart, I have also gone home empty handed. No complaints though, because there are always some great people to talk with. 

My favorite saying about a train show "If you don't go, you'll never know."

I like going to Cal Stewart and I always find something. It is where I got hooked on Tinplate and Standard gauge later on. I enjoy looking and digging to find stuff. I still have 2 finds from last year that I need to get running.

LOL. Yes, If you like digging around through boxes of HO junk that should have been thrown away while being bumpped into by strollers, other than it is a great show. That is assuming you can find a place to park. Besides I need a Double Double really bad, I mean really bad.

well hopefully they get some real vendors to come back because this years was a joke.

Back when airfares were realistic AND they had the O scale show there with the TTOS/TCA show, so I felt like I was getting more bang for the buck (I only remember bringing home stuff from the O scale show), I tied in  "explore California" vacations and made it there a couple of times  (the good old days).  O scale show got rescheduled....no chance it is back at the same time/place as the tinplate show?  I did like that location/airport (San Jose?)until 9/11 and they went paranoid/schizo and you could hardly access it.
