That’s my question. I searched but couldn’t find an answer. Thanks.

It'll be fine. I've powered one with a ZW with a barrel adaptor and had no issue.
The Z1000 isn't a "high wattage" pack, the DCS Explorer is rated for a 6A max. 6 amps * 18 volts is 108 watts.
I believe it's actually recommended in the Explorer's instructions.
GRJ - please note I wrote “higher”, not high. I didn’t want to toast the DCS Explorer.
You can also connect the explorer in passive mode. Just run a pair of wires from the terminals to the track. This way track power doesn't run through the unit.

Thanx for the info, but how would I control throttle, horn, bell from the DCS Explorer?

No, you can't. The DCS Remote Commander works that way, but the DCS Explorer does not function in passive mode.

Correct, I was just noting that the 100 watts didn't exceed the ratings of the DCS Explorer, so there's no issue with toasting it.

OOPS! My bad. Mixed the two up.
