Hi Brian,

From here they look like Lone Star by Treble O trains. If you flip them upside down they would be stamped that way on the inside. Just a guess. These are about N scale size, is that correct?

As to value, nothing substantial if they are Treble O. Some cars mint will bring $40-50 on that one auction site that we can't name. Those look to have been well loved. Maybe a few dollars per car max, in my opinion.

Is that the same as Tootsie Toys??? I have all those....looks like you have all they made in the series. I bought them new back in the 1980's because I had them as a kid in the 60's.   I doubt they have much value in 'rough' condition.....as mint sets still sell under $20 a set. The hardest set is the silver streamliner set and the 1890's passenger set. All the others are pretty common and in fact saw them for sale at Cass RR store a few years ago.

While asking about toy trains.......anyone know who made the bag of plastic trains where you would get '100 trains for 99 cents'. The trains were plastic, hollow molded in many colors.....about an inch long each. I'd love to find a set of them.....spent many hours playing with them on Grandma's porch.

I have all those sets, purchased within the last twenty years. I agree with AMC Dave, I'd put the value at less than Twenty dollars per set. (The blister packed ones, not necessarily the ones in the antique shop)

I see them used, in beat up condition at antique and train shows from time to time at much higher prices. Some unknowledgeable folks might pay those sort of prices.
