Can MTH DCS Talk To Lionel DCC Track Accessories?

The MTH system (with an attached TMCC or Legacy command base), can only deal with engines, not accessories.

Anything can be "modified", it depends on what you expect to end up with.

Curious if that also includes StationSound or any other TMCC board cars since they can be assigned an engine ID.

I've never tried the SS car, it would be interesting to see how it responds.

Does he mean purchase a set (with the Explorer) vs. buying a TIU/WIU or TIU/Remote? 

Is he aware that the Explorer is available for separate sale?  And that it has some limitations compared with the TIU and full boat DCS?

I just sent him that Landsteiner, see what he comes back with.

Okay, Phil says that he is aware that the explore is available separately, but thought getting another train and cars would be worth it from the set. Plus allow him to use command control train. Also, long term he wants to add operating accessories like a barrel loader and sawmill.

I didn't know Lionel made DCC accessories.

They don't.  They make some accessories that work with TMCC/Legacy.  Mostly they are conventional.

If they made DCC accessories I would buy some as my layout is switchable between DCC and TMCC/Legacy and would love some accessories for the kids.
