Can't Find or Recover Engine DCS

Don't think you could have shorted anything out, 2Rail would use insulated left and right wheel sets to pick up the current and 3Rail has no current in the outer rails anyway.

Did you accidentally bump the DCC/DCS switch to DCC? And is that track actually powered up?

I got to set up scroll to recover engine cant recover engine. 

First, you must be using a TIU #1 when attempting to recover an engine and it will only work with a very strong DCS signal. I suggest that you try the recovery with a test track directly connected to TIU Fixed channel #1.

Second, will the engine operate conventionally?

When I took the engine off the track placed in 3 rail and checked the dcs/dcc button I was still in DCS. The track was powered up.  The engine does nothing Thanks Bob

The engine doesn't run conventionally.  I have good signal and run through TUI #1 Fixed Channel.

Now I have this showing on my DCS Remote ? 

I think we've all had that one at  one time or another over the years. Just cycle remote power and it should disappear .

If it doesn't run conventionally, it's likely something is wrong.  I doubt you'll find it with DCS if it does nothing conventionally!

It is MTH 20-20933? You're sure the switches are flipped correctly and fully? I've done the 2R instead of 3R switch deal before on 3rail track after running on a 2Rail layout and it's not messed up the engine.

John,  A simple move like what I stated has caused the engine to seize up.  The engine doesn't run or interior cab light doesn't come on I get nothing. So John suggestions?  Thank you

Bob MTh 20-20368-1 PS3 great engine up until my accident. I mean a get nothing frustrating lol

Without seeing it, I can't really offer any suggestions, sounds like something is amiss.  Based on "hitting" the 2-rail/3-rail switch, I'd start there, those are notoriously unreliable.

Thank you John 2rail /3rail unreliable in what way. I did take the shell off everything seems in order,  nothing loose frayed burnt.

Probably time for an MTH tech to put the board on a tester if there's nothing loose or broken.

John, May I mail the engine to you? MTH 20-20368-1 CSX U30C PS3.0.  I did place kadee couplers on the engine. So there are coupler wires with electrical tape on them at both ends. May I have your business address? I will mail the engine out to you today or tomorrow. Let me know. Merry Christmas

Look at the bottom of the 2R/3R switch and make sure you did not push the bottom out.  Since you did this on the fly. Also take shell off and make sure no wires pinched.  Coupler wires insulated as you state.  G

Yep, the switch was all mangled inside, don't know what happened to it.  They're really cheap switches, so it's not surprising.  I've replaced quite a few of them, sometimes they just come apart and you can cinch the sides back up to get them working again.
