I seriously doubt that you got a virus from anything on Lionel.com.

I have the same issue.  The loading bar gets to 75% or better and freezes.  Searching around google or this site will get you different links and some work for opening the catalog.

I have a theory, are you using firefox?  In the last week they quit supporting various web page items and I had to quit using it.  My favorite is now toast!

 It made OGR take about 50+% of cpu usage. 

Try Google or MICROSOFT browsers.

FireFox works just fine for me.  Just tried it all and everything is fine. Do you have the latest updates?

The only thing new is Firefox lets you know that OGR "is not" a secure site before you log in, as well as CTT and other sites.

Nonsense. I use Firefox 100% with no problems whatsoever.

What you saw was that the latest Firefox update was the last one that will work on Windoze XP.

The issue is not nonsense and fortunately not uniform. I can't use firefox for a number of things anymore such as Webex, go to meeting and on various web pages the cpu usage goes up. Based on a non scientific sample, I seem to be in the lucky  5%.  I need to see if I kept the email from my organization's IT.

I had the exact same problem with Google Chrome on my HP laptop but NOT on my desktop. Same browser, same Ms Windows version. Maddening. I never figured it out. Just used the desktop for catalog viewing. 

Foxfire will do the trick! I just went and viewed the catalogs in about 3 seconds.

 

I use Firefox and have not been able to view the Lionel catalogs either. The front cover opens up, but unable to turn the pages. The front cover loads up all the way to the right of my screen, but obscures the page flip section.

Seems to work for me right now, Firefox 52.0.1 on Win 7.

Unable to view Lionel catalog using Firefox,  Chrome, or Explorer.  Using latest Samsung S7 Android.  MTH & WBB catalogs open with no problem.

My point is that the problems you are having are not because of Firefox. There is something else wrong on your computer causing this. I'm using Firefox to view the Lionel catalog with no problem at all. I also use it for GoToMeeting and that works fine, too. The fact that your CPU usage goes up on some web pages tells me that something else is going on that is causing your problem.

Better get the IT guys involved on this one.

Well, when I bought that laptop just around 2 years ago, it was that or "iPad 8".  Not wanting my PC to look/work like a darn tablet (if I want a tablet, I'll buy one!), I specifically bought it with Win 7. (So from my perspective, it would be "I can't believe anyone actually bought a PC with Win 8 on it."

Win 10 was out shortly after during the "free" upgrade, but I never did it due to the many people who had horror stories of what happened to their systems after they tried to do so in the early days of the "free" offer.

I personally think operating systems need to ripen before they are reliable.

Where I worked I would of got fired for being on this web site with "Their" device.

Win 10 auto up-grade killed my HP laptop. After a new hard drive, MS informed me it was not compatible with Win 10 and they installed Win 8.1 and other lost software remotely from India. Took 5 phone calls and 3 days of my life.

 

Just a thought..............browsing and download history:  clear all cache and cookies.

the last time this happened on the lionel site i got a popup that gave me a virus

I had the same problem with Google Chrome. Never resolved. Got a printed copy and no problems!
