Can you download and substitute protosounds 2.0 for 3.0 and visa versa? | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

Don't really know if MTH proto sounds that are available for download can be used between the two versions. May want to substitute older proto 2.0 sound set for a Southern Crescent Imperial on order (3.0 version) if I'm not satisfied with whistle set. Heard many different types of whistle sets on the Southern Crescent, including one Imperial version which sounded horrendous....if my ordered one sounds like that, I would like to substitute it out....

You cannot use a Proto 3 file in a Proto 2 engine they are not compatible.

You can put a PS2 3 volt file in a PS3 engine, but not the reverse.

Thanks...good to know....it was a proto 2.0 file into a proto 3.0 engine that I am contemplating...
