Hello Mad Max

For any of the ribbon rail track .... Joe Mania has a huge coil of the ribbon rail material ....and will gladly sell you at a reasonable price as long of a piece as you may wish ...coil it up and send it out .....

I'm sure the same material can be had in the real world ..but there would be a minim charge etc ....

For ties  just head to home depot and by the 1/2"  boards they sell .... next a dremel tool with their mini circular saw  with a micro blade ...which worked perfect for the ribbon rail ....

I cut the width of the board with the dremel ...make a jig to keep things straight ...  then I cut the boards into the individual ties ... once you set up a system it goes pretty fast .

I used Joe's ribbon rail for my Lionel 2 7/8" ..loops ...   and made my own ties ...

C&F sold ribbon rail in 9' sections ... ...so enough for  a 36" circle .....which is fine for the most of their line ..the #45 requires a 72" circle ....  when in doubt bigger radius the better .

There are many reasons why ribbon rail died and sectional track had survived ..one is the need to carefully align your curves   so you have a constant curve not a curve straight kink combo  .

C&F track and ties are out there ...if one looks long and hard enough .....   the advantage of the new ribbon rail from Joe is you can order a huge long piece to snake your layout ...so you only have one joint ...

If you are going to use switches and need some ..let me know I may have a few extra

and here certainly one of the most unique layouts ever made ...dating back to 1908   a C&F  mining train snaking through labyrinth of ribbon rail
