HI Gang;

I am new here.  I just began recollecting Lionel O & O-27.  My father recently passed and left me "my old train set" which he "played" with in retirement.  Needless to say it triggered in me a long forgotten emotional attachment to Lionel.  The bug has once again bit me to collect that which I lacked when I was 10 years of age.  We didn't have much extra $ so my set lacked for much of the accessories and rolling stock that I always wished for back in 1961.

I have been advertising locally to purchase Lionel.  A guy called me today and I asked him for the numbers off the rolling stock so I could look them up in the Greenberg book before he comes with them tomorrow.  Well, I found about 3 out of about 15 he gave me.  He said he had Lionel but I can't find most of what he gave me in the reference book.  For example, he gave me # 6457, the Lionel Caboose, but then listed 2731, 4427, 3152, 3197 and 3152, none of which I can find in Greenberg, except of course the caboose 6457.

My question is could he have American Flyer?  Are these AF numbers?  Or are they Marx numbers since he told me he had some "tin metal" cars".  Any thoughts from this forum  would be greatly appreciated.
