Changing MTH engine shell question

The frames are not all the same. Just sell the engine whole and buy whatever you want.

Or paint it into what you want...

I found that there are variations on changing shells on the same locomotive based on when it was produced as well.  I swapped a body on a PS-1 chassis with one on a PS-2 chassis and it took a little work as the mounting was slightly different.  Not a difficult challenge, just not expected.

I was able to swap the shells between two different road names for my F40PH, from CSX to Amtrak, but... the headlights and / or ditch lights may also need to be swapped between shells, as if original board is set up for bulbs, you're new shell may have LEDs, or vice versa.

Luckily, my two shells were both from the same year, so the headlights and ditch lights were the same...
