My wife and I just returned from Cheyenne Depot Days. There were some pleasant surprises. The 844 appears to be getting work done: the boiler has been marked with a grid for ultrasound testing, stay bolts are being replaced, and one driver pair is gone, I assume to Strasburg, PA for work. One of the crew said the 844 will be running first, then the 4014, then the 3985. Different this year is that the roundhouse was not open. The explanation was that it is too dangerous because of many parts laying around. I uploaded a bunch of pictures and have more so let me know if you have specific interests. The two E9 As and one B was outside but we were not allowed to walk over to them.
Let me know if you have any questions. Enjoy!
I added pictures of 3985 and 5511 from last year since we weren't allowed to go into the roundhouse today.
