The church layout is coming together pretty well this year. I down-sized in other areas this year, removing the Lego city and most of the G-scale so I could focus on O. That being said it's a bit of a re-building year. So I don't have the fancy carved cliffs from previous layouts but I have started to increase the size. Hopefully the scenery will catch up with the layout next year (why I passed up on those $5 Lemax buildings I'll never know). This year it was more about infrastructure; new Menard's tubular track (instead of Fastrack) and other basics to expand the size of the layout. I still have details to add including all of the loose snow but here are a few pictures from the test run with a few early visitors we had. Thank you again to those who donated both items and advice this year. ~Robert

P.S. If you want to drive yourself nuts for a minute or two, see if you can find the monkey in the last photo.

By the way, these pictures were taken with the fluorescent lights on and the layout lighting off, hence the stark look of everything. Once I have it finished up I'll take pictures with the actually lighting we use, which is overhead Christmas lights. the look improves dramatically when the layout lighting has a chance to stand out, and the starker backgrounds fall away into dimness.
