I just received a pair of new classification lights. They are cast brass with colored jewels for lights. The package came with three different jewel colors...red, green and clear. There are three different positions on each light...forward facing, left and right.
So, with two each of three different colors, where is each color located on the light?
Many thanks for your help.
Ralph
Well, since you are referring to "Classification Lights", which were ONLY mounted on the front of locomotives (steam, electric and/or diesel), the appropriate colors for forward movement would be:
White (clear) = Extra train.
Green = Second section following
Red = Backing up, with the front end being the rear of any movement to the rear.
Locomotive class lights would have the same color in all directions, i.e. front, side or rear, since they were only mounted on the front of locomotives.
