Cleaning finger prints and smudges off passenger cars who uses what? | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

I have some passenger cars that I have and my kids have touched and handled. Us being new at this we realized that we got our dirty hands all over our beautiful model train plastic cars. What would you use to clean them up and or polish them up. Thank you

If you can remove the plastic bodies from the floor, dish washing soap in warm water, warm rinse, and a cold rinse. Let dry for 24 hours and reassemble. John

I’ll just add to what John said above, and you might be able to use a very soft modelers paint brush in tough to reach areas. I sometimes use my wife’s hair drier on low to speed up and assure dryness before re-assembling.
