Hey Guys ,

I saw a C+LS WM J-1 4-8-4 on Brasstrains.com - man these are nice engines . You see them every once in a while , but usually unpainted ( a work of art unpainted too ) , but this FP model is just gorgeous . I've always thought it was one of the nicest detailed steam engines done in O scale ; kinda too bad it's a somewhat oddball road for a lot of us . I've got a small pile of Henry's Alcos +FM's which I love - wish I could justify buying this thing . Seems reasonable at what it's listed for . Somebody put me out of my misery and buy this thing ! No affiliation or financial interest - just thought I'd pass it along .

          Regards,

          Bryan

I don,t believe many really complained about C@LW models, they were the best models being built at the time. A limited market and under capitalization were the basic reasons for going out of business, nobody really makes a lot of profit on the high end brass market [its a lot different selling one model on a worldwide Ebay than 50-100 models at one time] Overland has announced they are stopping any future brass imports in O scale. The few importers left are doing very limited runs to a select market and I do not believe they are making a big profit on these itemsJMHO

hibar:   sadly, that is my concern. No high end brass importers left for high quality models, even for the "Holy Five" (NYC/ATSF/UP/Penn/SP). Guess my brass buying days are coming to an end, except for Sunset 3d Rail. Just hope Scott can hold on, particularly as he has done models of locomotives for a lot of the "orphan roads". Key seems to be hanging on, too; Glacier Park apparently is going to do some logging malleys and Precision Scale makes occaisional announcements in O Scale that never seem to see the light of day. What we saw in O Scale brass was a good run, while it lasted.
