Finished these today. They are proto48 with Protocraft couplers. The 78541 was dropped and it has a dent in the roof over the window. I am building an additional caboose now to replace it. Some people on this forum are artisans with brass, I am envious because those brass steps almost drove me crazy(and I do not have far to drive to get there).

Here is the wrapping process. I have added padding to the tops before wrapping. Even double boxed I had a couple of ladders damaged a couple of weeks ago. I don't know how they do it but they manage to damage one every once in a while.

 

Pads on top

foam under trucks

wrapped in 3-5 layers tissue

wrapped in 2 layers of bubble wrap

sealed inside plastic show box

then double boxed surrounded by padding.
