Mint Condition. Cant this be the hobby equivalent of having a ticket to Elvis' 'next' concert?

I don't think so
Let me know if it is. I have one as well. No price gouging though!
I would take the Elvis ticket.
I'LL bet $1 that the MTH Spring York 2020 boxcar will be collectible

I think this will be like a Woodstock ticket - they never collected most of them, so there are plenty around. Same thing with Woodstock programs. The truck never made it to the field because of the traffic.

I think that mth car should be modified with a big red "CANCELLED" across it. Then it would be collectible! (although obviously I hope this isn't a sign of this to come..)
Well; if that York badge is collectible, I’ve got an un-used ticket to an August 1977 Led Zeppelin concert in Pittsburgh that was cancelled following the death of Robert Plant’s son. 😉

How much??
Maybe more like a 2020 Tokyo Olympics ticket.
....or, more like all those nearly countless cancelled events tickets all over the world, come to think of it.
But, since "collectible" is actually not about the money, but more about things you just like, yeah, it's collectible.
I have a untorn Pontiac Sliverdome Led Zeppelin ticket somewhere. The show was canceled after John Bonham passed. I got the tickets in the mail the day after he died. Tickets were sold by mail only and limited per order (7?). (not for sale; thanks... but maybe I'll add a sticky note to my will Mike )
You never know what people will pay a premium for and paper doesn't take up much room
Actually there are quite a few collectors of unused concert tickets: depending on the band of course. They put them in shadow boxes with album covers.
Just like train tickets, maps and schedules; somebody, somewhere collects it.
Just Googled the value of a 1977 Zep tour ticket and good lord; you are right! I’m shocked at what people are asking. Didn’t know I had gold in my old metal keepsake box! 🤔
Better get this thread back to trains though before Alan’s antennae start twitching. 😉
Since the Spring York badges will be honored at Fall York; I’m not seeing them as being collectible.

My 1977 Zep ticket stub for Madison Square Garden ended up in the wash in the back pocket of my bell bottom jeans. I still have my Zeppelin belt buckle.

Only if you can perforate it and put it on a roll,
