Here's an announcement worthy of the 70th Anniversary of D-Day. Coming soon to Stockyard Express US Army Medical Supplies trailer-on-flatcars by Weaver Models. Why the white roofs? Medical equipment had white roofs with the red cross so the enemy would know not to bomb them!

I was on a road trip from Philly to Sandusky, OH, and found that Stockyard Express is only about 30 min from my destination, so I stopped by.  WOW, what a nice shop and quite out of the way!   I found myself in the middle of farm fields, but GPS got me there just fine.  Also a very nice group of folks, very helpful.  I picked up a PRR TOFC from MTH and Pennsy GP9 RK scale dummy.  They had many examples of various military loads on flatcars including an M3 Lee that was fabulous but not for sale.  The proprietor said he'd planned to offer them in the future.  Wish I took a picture!   If I lived in Ohio this shop would become a steady supplier.  If your travels take you on the Ohio Turnpike I highly recommend you take the quick detour to Stockyard Express.

Thank YOU sir.  And it's Chris.  Was the M3 Lee a 1/48 or 1/35 scale piece?   It seems hard to find a 1/48 Lee/Grant, and the one you had seemed big for the flatcar, and bigger than most M4 Shermans that normally come as flatcar loads.

Chris-right now I can't say for sure if the tank is 1:48 or 1:35 without standing in front of it. I will check it on Tuesday an let you know for sure!

I would love to have a few Lee tanks in 1:48, as you can imagine.

As far as I know, all the M3 Lee kits are 1:35 or 1:32 (Tamiya, Dragon, Academy,Classic Armor) of 1:72 (Forces of Valor, and some others).  I think Solido made a 1:35 diecast way back when.  I have never found any 1:50 Corgi models of it.

I've though of bashing one from a Tamiya Sherman kit - I think I still have one of those unopened, but it's a project that I would not get to for a long time, so I keep looking.

Everything doesn't have to have a prototype, and as I've learned, there are some surprises when it comes to prototype.
