Hello and Happy New Year!

The new support framework for my expanded loop is composed entirely of 2x4 lumber, with no nails or wood screws used anywhere.

I used 3/8" hex bolts, nuts, and washers for the major structural members, and 5/16" lag bolts for the horizontal braces.

The structure is anchored to the game room wall with 3/8" lag bolts going into the wall studs.

It is a very rigid assembly.

Thanks, guys!

The pictures show that my expanded loop is actually an oval, with the 2 loop centers 12.5" apart.

The new loop gives me an extra 4.5 feet of main line.

The 4' x 8' OSB sheets were too short to reach from the aisle to the wall, so I'll have to cut some filler material from my old loop panels to make an unbroken surface for the new loop.

Next comes painting, followed by Track Laying!
