Connecting Ross track to Atlas

Atlas sells Ross connector pins you can use.  I've also just use the standard Atlas connectors at times as well and just pinch and fasten well.

I believe you remove the pins and use the Atlas joiners. you may have to carve out a little of the Ross tie for clearance

Using the Atlas rail joiners.  This is Gargraves track with the bottom profile removed. It should match well with Ross Track.

Gargraves left, Atlas right.

 Atlas 6096 transition joiners to Gargraves would also work for Ross.  I have a few but they always seemed flimsy.

Thanks for both replies. I try using just the Atlas joiners that Atlas provides and the ROSS track did connect however; the connection seemed a little loose I guess that is were you mention Jim about pinch and fasten am I correct?

One last item, there seems to be some difficulty removing the Ross pins with pliers

you have to use the lever method. I grab the pin from the bottom of the track with the open end of the dykes facing up and lever the dykes against the base of the rail and the pin will come right out

1. Clip the stringers under the Ross track

2. Slide the end tie back to clear a regular Atlas Joiner

3. Join the two sections

Don't use the adapter pins as they won't necessarily maintain the joint alignment because they have no leverage to hold things in place.

As I evaluate this, I will only need about 2 or 3 possibly of these connections to my

existing layout of Atlas to and from the planned extension. The remainder on the new connected extension will be Ross tracks and turnouts if I do go that route.
