controller will not reverse engines

I have two Legacy engines and one TMCC engine on the tracks. I have two Legacy controllers for use. One controller works perfectly, as well as I can tell. One handheld controller will not reverse any of these engines. Is the fix for this handheld controller a difficult repair? Does it have to go back to Lionel for repair?

Probably the surface mount push button under the roller wheel...if so, you'll have to send it in I think.
