i know this can be done and in light of a potential iPad app to do this, i would be interested in knowing how this is achieved.

i am old school now and have four switch boards for my layout:  atlas switches with z-stuff d-1000 motors.

briefly!!! what would be required to control through legacy/tmcc.  could i retain the manual controls?

I'm also running Atlas switches with Z-Stuff switch motors. I'm using the DZ-2500s though. They can be hooked to a data bus and then interfaced with the Legacy base through a data wire driver. Three wires running around the layout and tapped into for power and the commands to the switches. Then wire the manual switch mechanisms separately for dual control and position leds at the control panel and on the switch motors.

I have Gargrave switches with DZ-2500, a DZ-2001 link to the TMCC base, a data wire around the table, each blue wire from each switch is tied to the data wire. I can't get them to accept CAB-1 controls. I was told by Zstuff to disconnect all switches and start connecting one at a time to see the issue. Someone said that maybe the switch was in "dcs mode" and I'm not sure what that means or how it got there and if it is how to get it out?? Any ideas?

Gentlemen,
I know you gentlemen are into the different switches and track but the FasTrack Command Control switches are really something, we installed and used them yesterday on my layout, my buddies older TMCC even works them quite well, can't wait for my
new Legacy to arrive.  The Tin Plate trains run thru the FasTrack CC 072 WYE switches incredibly well, the FasTrack CC switches are basically plug and play eliminating all other wiring, no other engineering required, program and play.  I will stay with my FasTrack Command Control Switches, they work great.

The CC 072 WYE FasTrack switches added to the Christmas layout.
