I have decided to be content with the original shells that were the subject of quite a number of complaints. I'm finding the replacement shells very difficult to find and costly. I think I can live with the darker finish of the original shells, but what could I use to give them a much more glossy appearance ( wax, etc. ). Thanks, Mike.

I have done it with liquid car polish like Nu Finish. It was unintentional as I just wanted to clean it up but it left the spot I was rubbing on much shinier. Use a soft cloth, not paper towel if you try it and start with some paint on the inside. I assume you only want to polish the red, if so make sure you mask off the rest first.

I only use their Dullcote but Testors also sells a gloss coat in a spray can.
