Okay everyone, laugh at me on this one because I'm late to the game.
I just bought a TMCC S1 locomotive (6-18351) and got it home. Was going to start switching Pullman cars with it only to find that there are no shoes to activate the coil couplers! Of course, I delved right into the manual to find that despite TMCC supposedly being able to be operated conventionally, this does not include conventional operation of coil couplers.
I guess I am late to finding this aggravating oversight of Lionel's, but that is beside the point. Has anyone retrofitted shoes or reed switches to allow for activation via UCS/RCS or similar track sections?
