I had been looking for ATS shoes and found some nice ones in brass. they are not specifically ATSf shoe mounts, but I modified them to fake it. Had to add backing plate, Nuts, bolts washers and sending bar.

Mario these were $7.95 each at Des Plains hobbies. I wondering if I reshape one to a better size and more representative of the atsf shoe can you duplicate it? Also are you selling the Kadee mounts for the Lionel scale reefers? Email me.
Ron
Both, all day long.
Thanks,
Mario
I've been thinking about those myself. Nice Ron!
And Mario, if you duplicate one, I'm in.
It looks like the 3d printing has a rough texture. I might invest in mold materials and resin to make resin castings. Micro mark has a lot of that stuff.
I would print these just like you show in the first picture, and the lined texture should be on the bottom facing the rail. I'd have to see one upclose to get the details correct.
Anyone have an up close shot of one? Also, for my own fleet, which Des Plaines Hobbies part number is the correct one for NYC shoes?
Thanks,
Mario

Ok, so I found some pictures...
Would it be safe to say, that the usual location for steam locomotives was the engineer's side, front tender truck, trailing axle and engineer's side, front truck, trailing axle for diesel locomotives?
Of course, like everything else, I see some exceptions:
One last question... I ordered both shows from Des Plaines; which shoe is correct for the NYC? They both said they were O scale; but one is half the size.
Thanks,
Mario
Ron H,
When modeling the Santa Fe, remember that those intermitant automatic train stop shoes were removed at Fort Madison, Iowa on eastbound trains and then reinstalled at Fort Madison on westbound trains. The shoes apparently would not clear some things going into the station in downtown Chicago.
Very nice modeling job, and in my opinion they don't look too large. I remember the real ones were pretty darn big and heavy.
Hot Water,
Thanks,
ron
Great addition!
