I am planning on converting the premier PS1 GS4 I purchased just before Christmas to PS2 and was looking for any pointers that could be offered.  I plan on using the PS2 guts from my 3 volt Railking GS4.

So here are my questions?

1.  Any reason not to use the PS2 from the railking model?

2.  Is there any upgrade for the sounds or are they the same between the RK and Premier versions?

3.  Is there any reason to get into the Boiler besides the tether or is most of it done from the tender?

Any other ideas, suggestions, and tips are more than welcome.

Thank you!

1.  NO, but the harness and wires may not be long enough.

2.  Yes, you want to use a premier sound file for scale speed.

3. Yes, you need to add tach reader, will need pittman bracket or make a home made one.  Need to change PCB at rear of engine. Need to modify smoke and add inductor for light CV board.

4.  Read the steam instructions and look at the internals you have to deal with.  You may need an upgrade kit to get the longer harness.  Or at least get the harness since you have the board, speaker and battery.

If you need any parts to finish it, including harness I have them in stock.  G

Well Marty, GGG's post had me most of the way there and yours kicked me over the edge.  I had just wondered if I could use it more easily than getting the kit and going that direction.  With all this though, I think I will have someone do it for me.

Any volunteers?  For a price of course.....don't expect anything for nothing.
