Cotton Belt GP 7 - Historical facts

Reading and comprehension,,,,,,,he is discussing the Lionel model. The real Cotton Belt GP7 is long gone.

Doing a little research, it appears this engine was a real oddball. It was the only GP7 on the Cotton Belt/SP system, and the only hood unit ever painted in Daylight colors (or at least that's what was said). It would be interesting to know how this engine came to be; maybe the RR execs decided to do it with a bit of humor in mind. Apparently there are no known colored pictures of this engine.

If the enginebwad in passenger service, would it not need a steam generator in the short hood?  I did not see one in the picture.  Then again, it is not a pictute of the real mosel.
