Lately I have seen post were a few folks were looking to purchase a part but posted in a discussion forum instead of in the Wanted section. Maybe they just wanted to discuss it but not really want the part. I saw one this week were the poster was looking for a coupler armature. The modern Lionel part number was not available. It is very possible that a Lionel 2321-156 coupler armature will work but now I cannot find the post in any of the forums. If it is in the Wanted section my apology. I seem not to be able to locate it. I have several of these in stock. Only difference is the one in the parts manual doesn't have the little tab on the side. The ones I have do which is like the one being looked for. It it was you post it might be in order to make a few measurements to see if they are the same.

@Forest, I used the search functionality right off and think you are looking for this: https://ogrforum.com/...7#149239177438943697

As you can see, the correct part was identified, and sourced and OP has stated his way forward - he is waiting on Lionel to send him the part in lieu of warranty return and fix.

It is not clear to me if the PW 2321-156 will substitute - it looks like it, but with so many similar looking coupler armatures, who can be sure without further comparison? Immediately, I see that the 2321-156 has a more of an oblong hole than the factory correct part.

Yes it would need to be measured and compared for fit. Many postwar and MPC parts were re-purposed for use in later production. The only way to tell is to compare them. Not to long ago a member was looking for a gear to repair a Lionchief truck. The gear was not available and was going to cost a good price to replace it with the entire newer designed truck. After some comparison I was able to the fix the poster up with an identical gear from the MPC Era. Same part - different number. The old gear was still available. I sent him the new gear for something like $3.00 shipped.

Thank you for the link.
