Since I have been toying around with scratchbuilding again, I have been thinking of ways to build the cars.

These were the first of their kind for CP, built at Angus Shops in 1936.

They were designed to be hauled by the new F1a 4-4-4 "Jubilee"type speedster.

Interesting profile design, inspired by the "Royal Scot" train that had recently toured across North America.

The trucks were supplied by Commonwealth Castings as a "4 wheel passenger" truck design, of which appear to be unique to the CPR and modified designs were used on subsequent car orders.

Does anyone have information or drawings for the cars and trucks?

Just a few pics of the cars in question

Al:

These cars were produced as resin castings by Transit Classics in Australia. You can contact Greg King at Transitclassics.net.au you might be able to get him to run some extras for you. So far he has produced the postal express, baggage and coach and will make the sleeper early next year along with the 2100 series cars. I'm not sure if you are aware that David Nadeau is producing the 8 hatch reefers and the CPR war emergency box car.

Hope this is helpful.

Sorry it has taken a while for me to respond. The cars cost about 250.00 if my memory serves me well. As well as the streamline cars there has been other cars produced by other builders here in Calgary. The kettle Valley cars of Gib Kennedy fame were produced by Al H... J Scott has two sets for sale at this time. Heavy weight sleepers by Herb S were also produced and Al H is going to offer the CPR combine later this year. That's all for now. Have fun with your trains.
