Hi

I want to create an insulated outside rail on a spur so I can wire in a z-stuff block signal (DZ 1011) to the outside rail, which will activate (turn red) when a train is on the spur (the spur will lead to a 2 stall engine house - so in practice, if a stall is occupied by an engine, the signal will show red until the train has left the engine house and passed through the switch). I am using fastback.

I think all I'd need to do is

1/ create a break in one outside rail with a dremel

2/ remove the tabs connecting the outer rails on the underside of the fastrack for the whole spur

3/ Wire the input (white wire) of the block signal to the insulated rail - so a train passing onto the spur should connect input to ground and turn the signal red

Does this sound right? Or is there any issues caused by the fact that the end of the spur is not connected to anything else?
