Custom painted and weathered N&W #2300 Big Boy....

You've just caused a few strokes amongst the purists.  Almost like the GG1 in Lightning Stripes posted in the Forum on several occasions, I believe by @gmorlitz.  But I like it.  Harry did a great job.

Steve, looks like the N&W has working that Big Boy pretty hard.   Absolutely beautiful locomotive, Harry does fantastic work.  Thanks for posting Steve, from your neighbor, Dwayne,  here on the southern part of the Monon Trail.

Why the #2300 when the N&W's "Jawn Henry" was #2300???

Impressive to say the least.   Somewhere there is an article about bringing a Big Boy to the east for some promotional reason, through Tennessee or Kentucky and all the problems they had.  Even though the planned route was surveyed out for clearances, they still scraped the sides of rock cuts and took out utility poles along the track in curves.
